A CASE STUDY EXCERPT FROM GOOD BYE:
Kim had been a senior procurement officer for a large Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. She had worked her way up the organization and had 20 years’ service. She had over the years been a steady performer, loyal and hard working. When her organization went through a companywide talent review she was in the bottom quartile. She was subsequently called in to her line manager’s office, with an HR officer. She was told she was being made redundant and was then escorted out of the building.
When we met Kim five years later, the story was still Full Colour, and the scars were still very apparent. Her behaviour was impacted in that she did not give her loyalty fully to her new organization, for want of being hurt and blindsided so catastrophically again.
